Second Year Project.
Green Alliance is a charitable organisation that works with the most influential leaders in business, NGOs and politicians to accelerate political action and create new policies for a greener UK.
They wanted to improve themselves visually and not follow the stereotype of having a green colour palette and focus on the message.
Infographic Poster
Using Risograph Printing
Researching an area to base my project on, I wanted to choose an area that isn't typically spoken about; bulky waste. Bulky waste consists of furniture and large appliances; up to 70% of bulky waste sent to landfills is reusable.
This infographic poster laid out significant amounts of statistics within landfill and educates and targets MPs on the issue to make them make a difference.

3D Data Object
Using research from the infographic poster, I started to design a data object and a poster key, which helps read the shape. I started by creating a 3D object which symbolised a landfill and the different depths representing the data of annual bulky waste.
I ended up changing the shape of my object entirely and used a shape that I could better show the data so it was easier on the reader.
Using Autodesk Fusion 360

Poster Key
I created a poster key that helped the reader understand my 3D data object. Thinking about hierarchy, typography, and how to visually show my data, making sure it was appropriate to MPs - this poster was a lot more professional and thought out.

Design Provocation
The task is to create and develop an interactive design provocation to provoke an audience and consider new perspectives or change behaviour.
There are two phases. Phase 1 is testing ideas by creating a pocket-sized provocation piece and should be interactive in some way.
Phase 2, building from phase 1, I needed to develop the idea into a more ambitious piece of work. The final form of this had to be relevant to the subject.
Creating provocations aims to persuade people to make a change and open up the conversation between people and MPs. It's the MPs' job to listen to the people, so I thought this would be the most appropriate and effective way to run this campaign.
Sticker Campaign
Creating a sticker for companies and the public so they can stick it onto their bulky waste items, such as fridges, sofas, tables, etc. to remind people of their impacts on the environment.
Letting them know what else they can do to prevent bulky waste from going to landfills and signing the petition to get the government speaking about bulky waste and implementing new laws and systems. A QR code is attached which will take them to sign a petition.

Interactive Sculpture
Creating a sticker for companies and the public so they can stick it onto their bulky waste items, such as fridges, sofas, tables, etc. to remind people of their impacts on the environment.
Letting them know what else they can do to prevent bulky waste from going to landfills and signing the petition to get the government speaking about bulky waste and implementing new laws and systems. A QR code is attached which will take them to sign a petition.

Each side has a purpose of informing and educating. These sculptures will be placed in busy locations to maximise the number of people viewing the sculpture.
The MP listed on the cube will be different depending on the location. The public will pick up a cube and be informed of what to do with the cube.

Sculpture Sign
I created a sign alongside the sculpture to advertise that the public can take a cube. Adding the QR code previously used on the sticker to get more people to sign the petition for change.
